Henricho Bruintjies, the former South African 100m record holder is one of the athletes who did not get an invite to the SA Sports Awards.
A few weeks ago, when Sunette Viljoen was bullied by Fikile Mbalula (again), he made a big song and dance about how she was invited to the SA Sports Awards, but declined the invite.
Mbalula went on to say how he’s making a point of mentioning it before she moans again about not being invited.
Well, turns out there are at least two other athletes who didn’t crack an invite…or who the department forgot to invite. Henricho Bruintjies, the SA 100m champion, and Rushwahl Samaai, a long jumper who represented the country in long jump and the Olympics both took to Twitter saying they had not been invited.
Would have loved to attend the SA sports awards but it seems like there's no space for sports people, only parliament people lol
