Computicket confirmed that due to high demand, tickets for the much-anticipated Roger Federer vs Rafael Nadal ‘The Match in Africa for the benefit of the Roger Federer Foundation’ are sold out.

According to Computicket’s Twitter account, tickets sold out in just over 10 minutes. In-store tickets that were available, are also sold out.

Federer vs Nadal: Tickets sold out

Sales for the match that is set to take place on 7 February 2020 at Cape Stadium opened at 09:00 on 4 September 2019. Unfortunately, a lot of people did not manage to get tickets even though there were about 50 000 tickets made available (as reported by Match in Africa 6) as Federer and Nadal are looking to break the world record for the most attendees at a tennis match.

People took to Twitter quickly afterwards to complain about Computicket’s service and how they could not get tickets (even though they waited in the ‘waiting room’ for a while):

Singer, Danny K said:

Others want to know exactly how many tickets were made available and how this is even possible:

Also watch out for this potentially dodgy ticket scam:

Just the day before, Match in Africa advised people against purchasing tickets on the grey or black market, especially via ticket resellers, trading or online auction platforms on the internet.

In a registration release, they said:

“Reselling tickets on the grey and black market is illegal and the tickets sold through these channels are overpriced. In some cases, the tickets may also be fake. We assume no responsibility for tickets that have not been purchased through the official pre-sale ticket booking service and we reserve the right to block illegally purchased tickets for safety reasons. These tickets will lose their validity immediately and will no longer grant the ticketholder access. In such cases, no claim for compensation can be entertained.

“To prevent situations like these, we highly recommend purchasing tickets for the Match in Africa 6 exclusively via the official sales platform.”
