The Rock, Kane, Triple H and others pay tributes to Bray Wyatt

WWE legend Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has led the tributes to Bray Wyatt, who died at the age of 36 on Thursday.

Wyatt was reportedly suffering a heart attack but was believed to be nearing a comeback, having not performed in WWE since January.

The news of his death broke on Thursday evening.

“Just received a call from WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda who informed us of the tragic news that our WWE family member for life Windham Rotunda – also known as Bray Wyatt – unexpectedly passed earlier today.

“Our thoughts are with his family and we ask that everyone respect their privacy at this time,’” said Triple H in a tweet.

After the news broke, many fans and former WWE superstars reacted to Wyatt’s passing on social media.

“Im heartbroken over the news of Bray Wyatt’s passing. Always had tremendous respect and love for him and the Rotunda family. Loved his presence, promos, in ring work and connection with WWE universe. Very unique, cool and rare character, which is hard to create in our crazy world of pro wrestling. Still processing losing the goat, Terry Funk yesterday and now Bray today. My love, light, strength & mana to the Rotunda family and Funk family during this tough, heartbreaking time,” said Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

Wrestling icon, Ric Flair also paid tribute to Wyatt.

“When Your Great Friend And Someone Your Son’s Age Dies Within 2 Days,’ he wrote. ‘It Really Makes Me Reflect & Think About Life! Don’t Take Any Second For Granted! Rest In Peace Terry Funk & Bray Wyatt!'”

Wyatt, whose real name is Windham Rotunda, battled with health problems brought on by Covid-19 earlier this year, according to various reports.

“RIP to Bray Wyatt…at the peak of his gimmick, I thought he was as entertaining as it gets. His moments with the Rock at Wrestlemania and feuds with Cena were iconic and the entrance as cool as it gets.
