Roger Federer was a guest on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, where he reflected on his 24-year career, his emotionally-charged final doubles match with Rafa Nadal and how he was denied entry into Wimbledon by security.

Federer, arguably the greatest sportsperson of all time, made a guest appearance on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, arguably the one of the most loved talk shows, where he candidly chatted about his long and successful career during which he won 20 Grand Slam titles, his rivalry-turned-friendship with Rafael Nadal and how he broke the news about his retirement to Spaniard, jokes about the time security refused let him into Wimbledon.

Federer is currently on tour of the USA and as expected his surprise appearance of The Daily Show had social media users fawning. The candid interview was filled with laughter, entertainment, but also had emotionally-charged moments, especially so when Federer spoke about his injury-enforced retirement.

In the first clip, below, South African comedian Trevor Noah, who hosts The Daily Show, gives Federer a heartwarming welcome. Federer is of course also half-South African, with his mom hailing Kempton Park in Gauteng.

Below, Federer reveals how he told Nadal about his imminent retirement and how his long-time rival-turned-friend dropped everything to his last tennis wish come true.

Throughout his illustrious career, the 41-year-old Federer won 20 Grand Slam titles, a record eight at Wimbledon, six at the Australian Open, five US Opens and one French Open.
