South Africans – Let’s get beh

South Africans – Let’s get behind our men

With Pride (and an out of tune voice) I belted out our anthem at Brighton Stadium – two hours later it was all over and History was made.

South Africans – Let’s get beh

Sjoe, I get it. We were awful on Saturday. We all know it, I think the world knows it and I’m sure the 31 players know it… EVERY single sports writer knows it and has written about it. We’ve got the jokes (most of them raising a few laughs).

But surely  this constant bashing isn’t helping anyone? It was an incredible moment in sporting history where we simply fell on the wrong side (and the Japanese were outstanding).

I’m not anywhere near the SA squad so I am sure this will never get to them, but I’ll throw it out to the people that follow Braai365  and The South African, as South Africans, isn’t it time to stop bashing our guys? I’m sure they are hurting and they know (and we’ve been told) that the result shouldn’t have happened on the weekend, but it did (I was there) and now it’s over.

Wouldn’t we rather have the nightmare game now than in the second stage?

There are 31 South Africans (like you and I) that were picked to do our country proud, 31 South Africans that grew up and battled hard on our fields dreaming of becoming Springboks, 31 South Africans got picked to play for us and right now they need to believe we’re all behind them. Each one of them is a brother, uncle, father or son, and each one is a South African. Just a suggestion, let’s put away our jokes, and our digs and let’s get behind our boys.
