Khune’s Suspension and Demotion:

“I think this [Itumeleng Khune situation] is something that has to be credited to management and that doesn’t mean Cavin Johnson,” Johnson said as quoted by FARPost

“It means Jessica [Motaung] Kaizer Motaung, Kemiso [Motaung], Bobby Motaung and Vina [Maphosa], all of us.

“How the club in the village is able to control that type of news because we all know that Itu is a big part of this team.

“But in the end, we were able to calm the players and they realised what was happening.

“And all of us are not perfect, that’s what we have to know.

“Whatever happens to some of our players after they play, we’re all not perfect.

“We’re just grateful that we work for an organisation like Kaizer Chiefs and they’re able to say we’ll help you.

“So that is what I’m grateful for, even the club statement says we’re going to help you.”

Johnson, who took over on an interim basis, acknowledged the club’s handling of the situation, emphasising the collective responsibility of management.
