Cristiano Ronaldo had a mixed weekend. A Syrian boy met him and declared his love and in a viral video another boy shouted that Messi is “so much better”.

Nabil Saeed meets his hero

10-year-old Nabil Saeed who lost his father in the earthquakes that hit Syria and Turkey in February met Ronaldo. After a clip of Saeed talking about Ronaldo went viral he was tracked down and invited to Saudi Arabia.

There he got to watch Cristiano Ronaldo play for Al Nassr and meet the man himself.

Meeting with young Nabil is not the only thing Cristiano has done to provide relief after the earthquake. It has been reported that he has also sent well to help those trying to rebuild. He sent a plane with medical supplies, tents, pillows, blankets, food packages, baby food, and milk.

Is Messi so much better than Cristiano Ronaldo?

In another clip what is widely accepted to be a young boy can be heard shouting, “Lionel Messi is way better”. Cristiano continues down the tunnel talking and taking it in his stride.

The conversations of who is the greatest of all time and the greatest of the moment seem to have tipped in Messi’s favour since the World Cup.

Ronaldo has had his fair share of ups and downs. Transfers, many of them. Messi’s World Cup victory which differentiates the two. Changing leagues and the list goes on.

What is clear is that his divisive personality has spread to the next generation and may outlast his career. At least a young boy who lost his father gained a happy memory.
