There is a big chance that a player Arthur Zwane wants to sign at Kaizer Chiefs could be the reason he longer has a job.

The storm is brewing at Naturena and it centres around the future of Chiefs coach Zwane.

His side are in miserable form and are not going to be challenging for the Nedbank Cup title – they were knocked out by Orlando Pirates – or second place in the league – again Pirates will beat them again.

They have won game to play and the calls for Zwane to be fired are growing louder.

And here comes the irony. Zwane badly wants to sign Khanyisa Mayo from Cape Town City.

The son of legend Patrick is leading the goal scoring charts in the PSL with Sundowns Peter Shalulile – both have scored 12 times this season.

But Mayo has a game to play still and Shalulile doesn’t.

And as fate would have it Mayo has the chance to win the Golden Boot with a strike against Chiefs.

That would no doubt lead to a Cape Town City win which would leave Chiefs in fifth spot and Zwane all but marching to the exit doors.

It’s a game to watch with significant consequences.
