Bafana finally gets back to action on Sunday afternoon as they host Mali in the Nelson Mandela Challenge in Port Elizabeth.

South Africa sat out the previous Fifa break after xenophobic violence in the country deterred both Zambia and Madagascar from honouring the friendlies organised in September.

The October international window now presents Bafana fans with a closer look at what new coach, Molefi Ntseki has to offer after making the step up from being his predecessor’s assistant to taking charge of the national team.

The former SA Under-17 coach was appointed weeks following the resignation of Stuart Baxter, who’s last assignment was guiding the team through the most recent Africa Cup of Nations, where they finished in the quarterfinals.

One of Ntseki’s main tasks in charge is to see Bafana to Afcon qualification, and Sunday’s encounter plays as a serious warm-up ahead of their trip to Ghana, where they will face the Black Stars on 14 November, before returning to host Sudan five days later.
