World Cup 2022: Who are the SIX female referees at Qatar games?

The 2022 FIFA World Cup gets underway on Sunday, 20 November with hosts Qatar taking on Ecuador in the opening match at 18:00 SA time.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup gets underway on Sunday, 20 November with hosts Qatar taking on Ecuador in the opening match at 18:00 SA time.

For the first time in the history of the men’s World Cup, there will be female referees, and not one or two but SIX.

Unfortunately, there will be no South African female referees in Qatar but the African continent is represented by Salima Mukansanga of Rwanda.

South America will be represented by three assistant referees who have been head and shoulders above the rest in that continent over the past few years.

And they are Mexican duo of Nesbit and Karen Diaz Medina as well as Brazilian assistant referee Neuz Back.

Asia will be presented by Yoshimi Yamashita of Japan while there a single representative from Europe in the form of Stephanie Frappart of France.
