World Cup 2022: Ronaldo and Pepe headline Portugal squad

Portugal have announced their 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar which gets underway on 20 November.

Portugal have announced their 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar which gets underway on 20 November.

As expected, Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Porto veteran defender Pepe have both made the final squad.

The pair brings with them a wealth of experience having been to many big tournaments with Portugal in the past.

Coach Fernando Santos has picked the majority of his latest squad from the Premier League with players from Manchester City and Wolves.

There are also representatives from French Ligue 1 with PSG players getting the most call-ups while local-based players such Otavio and Joao Mario have also been included.

Portugal are in Group H with Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea, and they will kick off their campaign against the African giants on 24 November.
