Argentina came agonisingly close to glory in 2014, only to lose to Germany 1-0 after extra time at the Maracanã in Brazil. He’ll now be the 29th player to lose a final and then get to play in it again. Of the 28 that have gone before him,13 have managed to put it right and lift the biggest prize in the sport.
