Furthermore, the game was Messi’s 25th at the World Cup finals, equaling Lothar Matthias’ record at the finals for Germany, meaning the left-footer will set a new record in the final.

Lastly, Messi earned himself a FOURTH man of the match award with his performance against Croatia. No player has more man of the match awards than him at the Qatar games.
