In an ongoing saga, Royal AM have been embroiled in a fight to overturn a decision that installed Sekhukhune United as GladAfrica Championship winners.

Shauwn “MaMkhize” Mkhize’s club were overtaken at the summit of the first division by Sekhukhune after an arbitrator had ruled in their favour, awarding them three points in a separate case.

Royal AM have been seeking to be declared the rightful winners of the GladAfrica Championship, exploring options through the SAFA arbitration and the High Court in South Africa to no avail.

The club last year approached the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Switzerland to make a ruling, which came after they had bought out Bloemfontein Celtic, thereby gaining automatic DStv Premiership anyway.

Royal AM will now have pay around R127 000 of legal fees to Sekhukhune and the PSL.
