Saudi billionaire prince dangles R21.5 Million carrot in front of Al-Hilal players

Saudi billionaire Prince Al Waleed bin Talal Al Saud has pledged some serious cash to Club World Cup finalists Al-Hilal. In fact, they’ve already pocketed £222k each simply for reaching the final. They’ll all be bumped up to £1m each (R21.5 Million) if they manage to win the final.

That’s a tall order though, seeing as though they come up against the might of Real Madrid. Never say never in football though. It’s clear that Saudi football is moving in the right direction, whatever anybody says.

Real Madrid got the better of Percy Tau and Al Ahly in the semifinals to reach yet another major final. It’s believed that Carlo Ancelotti’s job with Los Blancos is on the line and he needs to win this match to stay at the helm. Meanwhile, the Al-Hilal players are playing for national pride but also some massive financial incentives.
