Kambole netted for just a second time in 42 matches in a Kaizer Chiefs jersey following his previous strike against Stellenbosch FC towards the end of the 2019/20 season.

Baxter will be hoping that Kambole’s confidence will have been boosted after his late goal in a 4-0 drubbing of Chippa United will change the 27-year-old’s fortunes and help him to settle at Naturena.

“I don’t think he is the same type of striker as say a Bernard Parker or Khama Billiat, he’s one who is going to work behind back fours, and we’ve got to get to know him,” Baxter said, according to SuperSport.

“It’s important for him to start to time his movements and on when to go. I said to him before the game that, ‘you’re going to go on tonight and you’re going to go on confident because you’ve had a good week’s training’.

“He went on and he was confident, the goal quite rightly should be a big thing for him as he can now draw a line in the sand and from now, he can kick on.”

Kambole may well get the chance to add to his tally when Kaizer Chiefs take on SuperSport United in their next DStv Premiership clash on Sunday 24 October.

Kick-off at the Lucas Moripe Stadium is scheduled for 17:30.
