Mamelodi Sundowns chairman Thlopie Motsepe has been impressed by the work ethic shown by new signing Sipho Mbule.

Mbule endured a rough end to his time at SuperSport United falling out with the club’s top brass.

However, after a move across town to Chloorkop, it seems Mbule has made a good first impression on his new boss.

“I can say right now that Sipho Mbule is here.

“He is training while the rest of the team is taking a well-deserved break.

“I think already his mentality is saying that he wants to make a good impression on his teammates and on the coaches.

“His mind is already looking in that direction.

“But it’s not the chairman job to get a player to think in a certain way or to take the club seriously.

“I think it starts with the player, but we have also have an incredible group of senior players, like Denis Onyango and Kennedy Mweene, who have seen the players come in and have held on to this culture,” Mbule told media during the launch of the club’s Internship Program.

Motsepe believes that Mbule can follow in the footsteps of Andile Jali and take his career to the next level with the Brazilians.

“I think a great example of a player who has adopted this incredible culture and is a shining light is Andile Jali. Look at how he has performed this season and how, prior to his arrival, maybe there were a few statements about where he would end up and how he would survive.”

Mamelodi Sundowns swept the domestic offering of silverware last season claiming a fifth successive Premiership title in the process.

Mbule will join former SuperSport United midfield partner Teboho Mokoena at Chloorkop next season, with many excited by the prospect of the reunion.
