Pitso Mosimane is all but a free agent. What did he say about coaching Kaizer Chiefs again?

PITSO MOSIMANE CONFIRMS END OF THE ROAD WITH ABHA CLUB

Has Pitso Mosimane just put Kaizer Chiefs management under massive pressure? The legendary coach has announced the end of his contract with Abha Club. The club was relegated after losing 2-1 to Al-Hazm on Monday night.

It was the final match of the season. Abha needed a win against the relegated Al-Hazm on Monday night. Mosimane’s side opened the scoring through Ahmed Abdu Jaber on 47 minutes. Hazm equalised in the 58th minute through Muhhamed Badamosi, before Mohhamed Al-Thani delivered the crushing winner in the 80th minute to relegate Abha. Mosimane, who is heavily linked with Kaizer Chiefs, confirmed during the post-match conference that his deal with Abha is done.

“I took a risk and came to a team at the bottom of the league,” Mosimane said, as quoted by Austin Ditlhobolo.

“I knew it was a difficult task, but I had hope when we got out of the danger zone three times.
“Everything must be accepted, and my contract with the club expires today,” Mosimane concluded.

WHAT HE SAID ABOUT KAIZER CHIEFS

While most Kaizer Chiefs supporters expect the club to bring in Mosimane, is he willing to wear black and gold? What were his comments at the start of the year? Well, he literally offered himself to Amakhosi on live television.

Asked if he would take the Kaizer Chiefs job, Mosimane basically said yes.

“We should respect the brand, it is a big brand,” Mosimane said on SuperSport TV’s Soccer Africa.

“…When Chiefs play I go to grandstand and watch. I don’t need that…

“If it is meant to be, it will be there. I declare to you officially on TV. I am here, I am available, I’m a professional coach.

“If it has to be, it will be. Do I want to coach Kaizer Chiefs? Why not? Why not coach Kaizer Chiefs?

“Why not?” Mosimane concluded.

In the meantime, recent reports from Soccer Laduma claim that Mosimane is one of two final names the Kaizer Chiefs bosses are discussing.

The other name is the Portuguese Alexandre Santos. He is targetted after winning two league titles with Angolan giants Petro de Luanda, while also making the CAF Champions League semi-finals in 2022. It is said the availability as well as affordable will determing which coach will end up at Kaizer Chiefs before next season.
