Kaizer Chiefs were denied a clearcut penalty in the first half of their clash with Baroka FC.

With just ten minutes gone Samir Nurkovic had the beating of Vusi Sibiya before the Baroka FC defender hacked him to the ground.

Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt was left bemused by the incident but was happy that his team continued their unbeaten run.

“A point moving forward and it’s another game unbeaten and the players have done well. We deserved to win the game. I thought we were the better team. You know if you get that penalty in the first half, it helps you. But we have not been getting (penalties), three games in a row. We haven’t been getting those situations, (even) when it’s blatant. So, it’s disappointing, because it gives you a little bit of momentum. We should have killed it off. But over the 90 minutes I thought we were the better side, but it doesn’t always work like that,” Hunt said.

Defenders letting the side down

Hunt was also less than impressed with the defensive errors that led to Baroka FC’s goal.

“Big deflection. We should have stopped the cross, but then it takes a big deflection and then it goes away from where it’s going, and it goes into the striker’s path. So, that’s disappointing. But that’s football. We did not protect the wide areas and we should have done better.”
