Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Lebese was put in another stellar performance for his USL Championship side, the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC last night.

Lebese earned his side a valuable point against Austin Bold courtesy of a stunning equalizer in the 84th minute during an eight goal thriller.

George Lebese, who started on the bench, was introduced at half-time with the hope of salvaging something from the disaster situation the Switchbacks found themselves in.

Lebese’s introduction completely changed the complexion of the game. The Switchbacks scored thrice within the first 20 minutes of the second-half with George Lebese playing a hand in two of them.

With the Switchbacks trailing by a single goal with six minutes to go, George Lebese produced a moment of magic to complete the stunning comeback. The South African midfielder’s powerful strike from outside of the box nestled into the top corner to level matters at 4-4.

The late equalizer was Lebese’s second goal since joining the American outfit in December 2019. George Lebese has made eight appearances for the club and will now be looking to further consolidate a starting position at the club.

The draw leaves the Switchbacks with six points from eight games. They currently sit in 3rd position in the USL Championship’s Group C. They next turn their attention to New Mexico who they face on Sunday morning.
