Sukazi was seen scuffling with police on the scene as he looked to enter Galaxy’s changing room ahead of the fixture against Pirates.

Galaxy denied on and off the field

It proved to be a day to forget for Galaxy, as their trip to the Orlando Stadium, ended up having a rough time of things, both on and off the field against Pirates on Saturday. On the field of play, the Mpumalanga-based outfit were largely second best against the Buccaneers, with their battles extending beyond the field the of play.

Pirates co-coaches Fadlu Davids as well as Mandla Ncikazi rang the changes for the encounter against Galaxy. They brought in the likes of Collins Makgaka, Thabang Monare and Terrence Dzvukamanja, as the new faces who entered the team from the 1-1 draw against Amazulu in midweek.

Shandu gave Pirates the lead

It didn’t take long for Pirates to find the target, as speedy winger Deon Hotto managed to find new signing, Bandile Shandu with a sublime finish, which produced an equally immaculate finish from the former Maritzburg United player, who found the roof of the net in the 14th minute. The Sea Robbers would continue to pile the pressure on Galaxy throughout the half but would not add to their tally.

Pirates would eventually add their second through one of the fresh faces Makgaka, who was earning a rare start, and again it was that man Hotto who would provide the assist for the 50th minute strike. Galaxy would prove to have no answer and would eventually succumb to defeat against superior opponents on the day.

Rockets owner Sukazi denied entrance into stadium

While things were going bad for Galaxy on the field, a precedence for those events was, perhaps already set before the game. Owner of the ‘Rockets’ Sukazi was pictured wrestling with police who had refused him entry into what seemed like the team’s changing room. A video on the club’s official Twitter account shows Sukazi repeatedly showing the authorities his accreditation but to no avail.

Broos suffered similar fate at the same stadium

This is not the first time that a high profile, accredited guest has been locked out of the Orlando Stadium, as Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, famously suffered a similar fate to Sukazi. It remains to be seen what type of response the PSL will give for the incident, but you can watch it for yourself below
