Victor Letsoalo latest: Orlando Pirates transfer stance CONFIRMED amid intense Kaizer Chiefs interest!

Royal AM striker Victor Letsoalo has been the subject of intense transfer speculation for both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

In recent weeks, it seems to have been Chiefs who have been making the moves, but where do Pirates stand in their interest?

In the previous transfer window it had begun to look as if it would, in fact, be Chiefs’ fiercest rivals Pirates who would provide the destination for Letsoalo should he leave Royal AM, en-route to Soweto. It now looks as if, the four goals that the 28-year-old has scored against the Glamour Boys have made their management sit up and take notice of the big threat that they would be letting join their rivals, who already boast a powerful strike force.

The interest from Pirates got so intense towards the end of the 2021, that a Pirates sources went as far as claiming that the club was so willing to do the deal, that they would propose a swap deal with troublemaker Gabadinho Mhango joining Royal AM, in exchange for Letsoalo. However, after Mhango had knuckled down there seems to have been a change of tune in the Bucs camp about the player, with the Malawian international now reportedly set for a contract extension at the club.

Since then, it has all been Chiefs, with the player reported to have been in Johannesburg having talks with the club earlier this month. It had also been reported that both Amakhosi and Royal AM had been in talks regarding the player. All the signs were pointing to the fact that Pirates were ready to cut their losses on Letsoalo but now according to the latest information, pendulum may have taken another swing!

Sources speaking to Soccer-Laduma have since confirmed the stance of Pirates when it comes to Letsoalo, confirming that Chiefs will not have it all their own way.

“Orlando Pirates are still very interested in Victor Letsoalo and as part of the attempts to get the player, the club is keen on entering into a swap deal with one of their players. Royal AM have had a few players wanting to leave and Victor is one of them, as well as the likes of Jackson Mabokgwane and Sera Motebang, Royal AM wouldn’t want to lose a top player like Letsoalo on a free and despite having previously said that he is not for sale, the club will listen if a right offer comes in fear of losing him without getting anything for him. The main thing for the club is to do well this season in the league and the aim is to finish on a respectable position and after that you can expect anything regarding player movements,” the source added.

It now looks unlike that Letsoalo will leave Royal AM during this current transfer window, but it sure does look like it could be yet another fierce race between Chiefs and Pirates for his signature at the end of the season.
