South Africa will have two representatives at the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon between 9 January and 6 February.
Referee Victor Gomes and assistant referee Zakhele Siwela have both made the list of 24 referees picked for the continental showpiece.
The two officials are ranked among the best on the African continent due to their consistency and ability to handle matches under pressure.
And their selection to the refereeing panel comes at a time when Bafana Bafana will not be taking part in the AFCON finals.
Bafana Bafana failed to qualify for the continental showpiece in March 2021, and they will have to watch the tournament from the comfort of their homes.
Meanwhile, controversial Senegalese referee Maguette N’Diaye will be at the AFCON finals as he’s part the 24-man refereeing team.
This despite his performance in a FIFA World Cup qualifier between Ghana and Bafana Bafana being under the spotlight.
