No surprise that defending DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns, who had the most representatives in the ‘Most Valuable Top 10 list’ at the beginning of the season, remain the leaders in that regard.

The Tshwane giants also remain top in terms of the most valuable team in the league with a total squad value of €21.87 million (R382 million).

It will therefore come as no surprise that Masandawana boast five of the 11 players in Mzansi valued at over €1 million (R17.45 million).

Mamelodi Sundowns have been on fire this season and have scored 33 goals in their 19 matches to date – 10 more than the next best team on the list (Orlando Pirates with 23).

Red-hot striker Peter Shalulile currently leads the scoring charts with 13 goals and is on track to surpass Collins Mbesuma’s record in Kaizer Chiefs’ 2004/05 title-winning season when he found the back of the net on 25 occasions.

He remains the most valuable PSL player at €1.7 million (R30 million).

Kaizer Chiefs’ Zimbabwean forward Khama Billiat rounds out the top three with his price tag of €1.4 million (R24.4 million).

There’s a tie for fourth place on €1.3 million (R22.6 million) between SuperSport United’s in-demand midfielder Teboho Mokoena and another Mamelodi Sundowns star, right-back Thapelo Morena.
