Two Mamelodi Sundowns defenders have been linked with permanent exits from the club.

The Brazilians have a plethora of defensive talent, and the latest reports suggest two defenders could be heading away from Chloorkop following the conclusion of last season.

Fringe Kenyan defender Brian Mandela Onyango’s contract is set to come to an end this month after spending three years at the club.

The towering defender made just nine appearances for Rhulani Mokwena’s side last season.

With strong competition from the likes of Grant Kekana, Musa Lebusa, Mothobi Mvala, Rushine De Reuck, Abdelmounaim Boutouil and Rivaldo Coetzee in defence, reports suggest Onyango’s contract wont be extended!

Fellow defender Katlego Mohamme is also reportedly edging closer to a permanent move to Sekhukhune United.

The 26-year-old spent the second-half of last season out on loan at Babina Noko from Mamelodi Sundowns.

“I am expecting that we come to some sort of decision with Katlego and Sekhukhune, sooner rather than later,” Mohamme’s agent Mike Makaab told Soccer Laduma.

“We are already in negotiations for a permanent move. It would be nice for him. After many years, I think he has found a home. I am hoping we finalise it sooner rather than later. I believe it will be a home where he can show his true potential because I think he is a talented player.”

Downs to fight for Gilberto’s signature – Report

“It’s not a strange thing. The scouts have been following his progress for some time now whether playing against him or at Afcon in Ivory Coast,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

“Now, it is all up to talks between the two clubs which will put a clear path forward for the move to happen. But as for Sundowns they are really interested in the player.”

The source further went on to claim that Sundowns are willing to engage in a bidding war with an un-named Belgian side over Gilberto’s services.”
