On Monday, Orlando Pirates confirmed they have reached an agreement with Golden Arrows for the transfer of Nkosinathi Sibisi.

The Buccaneers have agreed a deal with Abafana Besthende, and the player himself, that will see the 26-year-old defender move to Orlando Stadium when the transfer window re-opens on July 1st.

Pirates also confirmed the signing of another defender, 27-year-old Tapelo Xoki joins the Club from AmaZulu in a deal that sees Gabadinho Mhango moving to Usuthu.

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates may soon be set to welcome Miguel Timm to Soweto as the Buccaneers look to refine their squad for next season. Timm was expected to make a transfer to Sekhukhune United, but SABC Sport has exclusively revealed that Pirates have hijacked the deal, and the 30-year-old could be set to become a Buccaneer.

Timm had also been linked with Chiefs as he was poised to become a free agent on 30 June, although the expectation was that he would be heading to Sekhukhune.

In addition, Bienvenu Eva Nga, who was once said to be on the recruitment radar of Chiefs, is reportedly on the verge of signing for Pirates.

According to Soccer Laduma, Pirates are believed to have offered Eva Nga a two-year contract, which will expectedly come with a transfer fee considering Chippa rather recently exercised the one-year option in his contract.

Pirates are going through a rebuilding process of their own

Meanwhile, Pirates have parted ways with a well-known squad member as they continue to build towards the 2022/23 season.

On Friday, Pirates released the following statement, bidding farewell to Thulani Tyson Hlatshwayo as they jointly announced the amicable parting of ways between the two parties.

A leader amongst men, Tyson has always sought to make a meaningful contribution wherever he plays, and this is what has ultimately influenced his decision to request the Club to grant him his request to leave.

Hlatshwayo said: “My dream to wear the black and white jersey of Orlando Pirates has been fulfilled.

“When I came here, I said I wanted a trophy, and we were able to deliver on that mandate. Unfortunately, the second season didn’t work out the way I wanted it to, and this is what has informed my decision to request the Club to grant me my wish of leaving because I still have a lot to give and a lot to offer in the field of play. This is something that I shared with Management.”
