It’s clear that Chiefs are looking to rebuild their squad to be more competitive next year, and after signing Siyethemba Sithebe from AmaZulu on a pre-contract, reports also suggest Amakhosi bosses have made a breakthrough in signing Yusuf Maart.

TRANSFER TALK: TWO TARGETS CHIEFS UNLIKELY TO SIGN

It has been reported that a transfer figure of just under R6-million was settled upon, although it remains to be seen if there were any additions to this deal. There could also be certain performance-based clauses involved that could see him increasingly earn more at Amakhosi.

The two clubs are effectively believed to have met somewhere in the middle after the initial offer came in at R3-million, while the contract is set to be on a three-year deal.

Chiefs have clearly indicated there will be ‘drastic’ changes to ensure they become a more well-rounded team next season, and according so Soccer Laduma, the club may be closing in on Swallows duo Kamohelo Mahlatsi and Dillon Solomons

The same publication now reports that Chiefs are now leading the race to also sign Swallows midfielder George Matlou, who also reportedly drew interest from Pirates.

According to Soccer Laduma sources, Amakhosi are in advanced talks to land the former Bidvest Wits academy product, who could become the third Swallows player heading to Naturena.

Interestingly, Solomons has revealed that he is not rushing to make a decision, and will leave his agent to assess the options available.

“My phone has been ringing but that’s my agent’s job, he has everything on lock you know and for me now it’s just to go home now and enjoy the break,” said Solomons as per iDiski Times.

“I haven’t seen my family in a while, so it’s just for me to enjoy my break and let my agent do the work.”

It remains to be seen who else will part of the Chiefs’ rebuilt squad

The Soweto giants recently confirmed that Zitha Kwinika and Ashley du Preez are soon set to make the move to Naturena as of the 1st of July.

Meanwhile, it’s been recently reported that Bafana Bafana attacker Pule Mmodi is one of the latest to join their target list, although Golden Arrows do have the option of triggering a one-year extension on his contract.

If Arrows are keen on selling the player, it will remain to be seen what valuation is placed on the playmaker, and whether that dissuades Chiefs at all.

All this transfer talk comes as Chiefs released as many as 10 players, while transfer-listing Anthony Akumu.
