The domestic season restarts with next month’s Nedbank Cup and clubs will be desperate to make full use of the remaining days of the transfer window.

Marumo Gallants explain Kenyan striker’s exit

Marumo Gallants have moved to explain why Kenya international Ovella Ochieng departed the club without making a single appearance.

Ochieng could reportedly not be registered as Gallants couldn’t get his international clearance.

“Ochieng was released and the reason being that we didn’t get his ITC which would have then enabled us to register him. He is the only player that has left so far,” club official Rufus Matsena told Kickoff.

Orlando Pirates striker going nowhere

Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa’s agent Jazzman Mahlakgane has made it clear the forward is committed to the Sea Robbers.

Mabasa’s initial contract would have expired at the end of the current season but it is understood that Pirates had already extended the deal.

“Tshegofatso Mabasa is going nowhere as Pirates have taken their option on his contract. It’s true that the player’s original deal was for three years, but the club had an option to extend it for two years, which they have now taken,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

Jose Ali Meza has found a club in South America bringing to an end speculation that he might return to the PSL.

Meza was officially unveiled as a new signing by Bolivian top-flight side, Always Ready this week.

According to Bolivian publication Balonazos, Meza agreed a year-long deal with Always Ready for the 2022 season and rejected a competing offer from their rivals, Real Santa Cruz.

Orlando Pirates are believed to be keen on recalling defender Justice Chabalala who is out on loan at Sekhukhune United.

Chabalala hasn’t enjoyed much game-time at Babina Noko and it has been reported that the coaching team at Orlando Pirates feel they could use the defender.

“Pirates are interested to have Justice Chabalala back for the second round of the season and talks are ongoing between Pirates and Sekhukhune United. Pirates have expressed interest in having the player (return) now in January, but Sekhukhune are keen to hold on to him for the rest of his loan deal which will end at the end of the season,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
