Chiefs set to swoop for Jali?

Kaizer Chiefs could be keen on swooping in for Andile Jali, who is still facing an uncertain future at Sundowns according to reports.

According to his agent Mike Makaab, talks are ongoing and sensitive, although it’s also been hinted that there will come a time when Sundowns will have to make a decision on whether or not they want to keep the 32-year-old at the club.

It’s now reported by Phakaaathi that Chiefs are in fact in talks with Jali, who could be open to the move, although he would want to keep his favourite jersey No 15.

“For some it might seem as just a squad number, but these kinds of things have sentimental value for players,” a Phakaaathi source interestingly commented. “If Chiefs are serious about Jali, they will have to bend over backwards for him and give him the No 15 jersey, otherwise they can forget about having him in their team.”

Amakhosi interested in Argentine star?

Chiefs have allegedly made contact with Stellenbosch FC regarding the possibility of signing their star playmaker Junior Mendieta, who has previously stated that he would be open to joining Amakhosi.

“Chiefs have made contact just to check Junior’s availability,” a source told GOAL. “They also did the same thing with Zitha and Ashley before they opened transfer talks towards the end of last season. So, I wouldn’t be surprised if they come back and make an attempt to sign Junior because he is a superb player.”
