THREE FREE AGENTS KAIZER CHIEFS COULD SIGN

PHAKAMANI MAHLAMBI

Once regarded as a fine South African prospect, Mahlambi’s career has stalled somewhat. The talented winger left Sundowns in June of 2022 when his contract wasn’t renewed, and now he’s without a club. Perhaps he could be worth a punt for Arthur Zwane? Chiefs have been severely lacking in the final third.

LIMBIKANI MZAVA

The Malawi skipper is vastly experienced at this level, with 195 PSL matches under his belt since he arrived 11 years ago. He’s been released by AmaZulu and available as a free agent. Mzava is also versatile, capable of playing at centre back or on the right-side of defence. He’s still only 29, so it’s not as if he’s past his best. He would improve the squad depth at any top-flight club, including Chiefs. Arthur Zwane should take note.

MDUDUZI MDANTSANE

The 27-year-old Cape Town City playmaker hasn’t set the world on fire so far this season, but a change of scenery could be what’s needed for him to kickstart his career. He’s undoubtedly a talented player with a bit of flair and that could be useful for either of Soweto’s two biggest clubs. He’s the type of player that can make the difference between one point and three. His contract expires in June.

KAIZER CHIEFS BACK TO WINNING WAYS

It’s baby steps, but Amakhosi did claim a win (their first of 2023) against Royal AM at the weekend. Will this e the platform from which they an start building?
