Seven players will miss matches in the PSL this weekend by virtue of suspension.

Here we take a look at the players suspended for their club’s next PSL match.

All the player’s suspended for this weekend’s PSL matches

Senkoto Bobete (Baroka)

Bobete picked up a fourth booking of the season in Baroka’s loss to Swallows in midweek and was given an automatic one-match ban.

The club skipper has twice gone into the book in successive matches but one has to sympathise with the holding midfielder who has collected cards to help a struggling Baroka FC.

Sbonelo Cele (Golden Arrows)

Former Uthongathi FC left back Sbonelo Cele will miss the KZN derby against Royal AM.

Cele would have served his suspension in the match against Kaizer Chiefs which was no-showed.

Cole Alexander (Kaizer Chiefs)

Likewise, Cole Alexander must still serve his suspension for the red card he picked up against Amazulu.

Alexander will be missed even more due to the raft of players laid low by COVID-19, but the match against Sekhukhune United is set to go ahead.

Vuzimusi Mncube (Sekhukhune United)

Sekhukhune United will also be without a key member of their squad having seen Vuzimusi Mncube sent off against SuperSport United.

His side rallied to win that encounter with ten men and will be looking to continue a good run of form against Kaizer Chiefs.

Thalente Mbatha (Supersport United)

SuperSport’s Thalente Mbatha will also be sidelined with suspension as a result of a sending off in his team’s loss to Sekhukhune United.

Mbatha got his marching orders just seven minutes after Mncube, which cost his team dearly, but they bounced back last time out to beat Stellies

Igor Makitan (TS Galaxy)

Bosnian centre back Igor Makitan is suspended for the Rockets trip to Orlando Stadium to face Pirates.

He was sent off just 20 minutes into TS Galaxy’s 3-1 loss to Marumo Gallants.

Andile Jali (Mamelodi Sundowns)

Sundowns will miss the experience and grit of Andile Jali in midfield after he was booked for the fourth time this season in the 3-2 win over Royal AM.

Jali has been in excellent form since returning from energy.
