Cape Town City captain Thabo Nodada has revealed he would be excited to join his childhood team Kaizer Chiefs if they were to table an offer for his services.

Nodada recently signed a new two-year deal with the Citizens, meaning whichever team wants him will have to dig deep into their own pockets to land his signature.

And these were the words of Nodada to Chiefs while also revealing that his chances of joining Gavin Hunt’s team are not over just because he has just committed himself to Cape Town City.

Nodada said Chiefs know what to do if they really want to sign him, adding that the Soweto giants cannot get him for free.

“No, I don’t think so [my chances of playing for Chiefs are over]. I think if they want a player, they know what to do. I don’t want to blow my horn but I don’t think you can get me for free,” said Nodada in an interview with TimesLIVE podcast.

“I think with the qualities I am going to add to any team I join, they have to part with money to show their interest,” he said.

“You know John, you know Mr Comitis, and you know how he conducts his business. If they want this player they have to get a deal with Mr Comitis,” added Nodada.

Asked if he would be open to a new challenge of joining Amakhosi who are expected to rebuild and bolster their squad with new players, Nodada replied: “Yes, it’s a new challenge; it [would be]] a new challenge for me.

“I’d definitely be excited with a challenge like that. I think definitely. I have said it before – at 21, 22, 24 and I am on the verge of turning 26.

“I need a new challenge, and what better challenge would it be than to play for a team that was your childhood dream?”

Nodada was also linked with a possible move to Orlando Pirates recently but he remained at Cape Town City.
