This season to date, Monare has made seven appearances for Orlando Pirates, five of those being starts with the other two off the bench.

In an interview, when asked if he was feeling any pressure due to his Orlando Pirates deal concluding in around six months, the 33-year-old said: “Honestly for me, it’s an everyday thing. I don’t really have to wait for my contract to come to an end to prove what I’m capable of doing, that would be like cheating the game.

“So, it’s just a weekly thing where you always push and become a better player than you were the previous day,” Monare explained.

“So, that shouldn’t be a part of you being motivated, you should be motivated as an individual and as a footballer you should be seeking improvement on a daily basis,” he added.
