Telkom Knockout 2019 dates and venues confirmed

SA’s top-flight teams return from the Fifa break and go straight into cup action, with the Telkom Knockout returning for yet another instalment.

Following the Telkom Knockout draw on Wednesday, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed the dates and venues for the Round of 16 stage of the competition.

Upon return from the Fifa international break, Baroka FC start their defence of their first ever trophy, with the tournament taking place later on in the month.

Telkom Knockout dates confirmed

The action begins on Friday 18 October, with Maritzburg United hosting Bidvest Wits at Harry Gwala Stadium, with the last of the round’s fixtures taking place in East London the following Tuesday.

The bulk of the fixtures take place on Saturday, with Golden Arrows and Polokwane City doing battle at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium in Claremont, at around the same time Cape Town City host Kaizer Chiefs at Cape Town Stadium. Both matches kick off at 15:00.

The day features two evening fixtures, starting in Soweto, where Orlando Pirates have a historic date with Stellenbosch FC at Orlando Stadium, before Supersport United finish the night’s proceedings by taking on the current holders at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Sunday sees the same Atteridgeville venue utilised once more, with Mamelodi Sundowns welcoming AmaZulu, while just an hour’s drive away in Thembisa, Highlands Park host Black Leopards at Makhulong Stadium.

The last quarterfinal spot will be decided on Tuesday night, with Chippa United playing host to Bloemfontein Celtic at Sisa Dukashe Stadium.
