Taariq Fielies said: “Obviously my mind is still here, but as a player you also want to achieve silverware and go test yourself at bigger clubs.

“I won’t say Cape Town City is a small club, I just mean basically a new club that is well established also – in Joburg or whatever. I would like to take on the opportunity, everyone wants to go on a journey where there’s different stories and different experiences.

“I’ve spent enough time at this club to establish myself. I feel now is the right time to go on a different journey and hopefully me and the chairman (Comitis) can come to some sort of agreement if there’s a suitable offer.”

Fielies is a reported target for Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.
