Pentjie Zulu is the man who’s been given an opportunity to revive his career at Swallows, and his acquisition was confirmed by coach Dylan Kerr.

Kerr admitted that losing Matlaba to Royal AM was a bit of a punch in the face, but he’s happy that Swallows have signed an equally capable player in Zulu.

The pair (Zulu and Kerr) worked together at Black Leopards, and the Swallows mentor admitted that he knows exactly what the 31-year-old left-footer can offer to the club.

Having been away from the game since leaving Sekhukhune United, Zulu is expected to grab this opportunity with both hands, said Kerr.

“Matlaba leaving us was a bit of a loss but it’s not a train smash because we’ve signed Pentjie Zulu,” confirmed Kerr on Wednesday.

“I know Pentjie from Leopards a long time ago, I know the quality he can bring here.

“He’s missed big part of the season since leaving Sekhukhune, and now it’s his chance to get back, as long as he keeps his lifestyle off the field better.

“He’s got a great opportunity for the next two or three seasons,” concluded Kerr.
