The Soweto derby isn’t the only clash of titans lying ahead on Saturday in the PSL. Wits are also set to face SuperSport United at the Mbombela Stadium in the late kick-off.

The Clever Boys have already lost to Kaitano Tembo’s men in the MTN8 and the league this season, so they will be eager to settle a score.

Wits are looking to keep pace with league leaders Kaizer Chiefs, who they trail by 11 points with two games in hand.

Meanwhile, SuperSport United are in the hunt for CAF football, although goalkeeper Ronwen Williams has admitted that league success is a long shot at present.

“It’s the same old story. We beat Pirates, we beat Chiefs … we beat the top teams but we struggle to win against the lower teams,” Williams was quoted as saying by SowetanLIVE.

“I mean, at the beginning of the season we set ourselves goals. We obviously wanted to win cups, but our main objective was the league… now we’ve thrown it away.”

Nevertheless, another victory over Wits could prove crucial in the long run as they look to roll the years back to the glory days under their old coach, current Wits boss Gavin Hunt.
