Eric Tinkler takes his Maritzburg United side to the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday to visit his old club, SuperSport United. He will be looking to rain on the parade of his former assistant coach, Kaitano Tembo.

Matsatsantsa are flying after a 2-1 victory over Kaizer Chiefs. Bradley Grobler and Thamsanqa Gabuza netted for the Tshwane outfit, but they now face another team that has beaten Chiefs this season.

The Team of Choice downed Amakhosi 2-1 in the Telkom Knockout semi-finals and were unlucky to draw their league encounter 1-1. More recently, they beat Golden Arrows 2-1 in Friday’s KwaZulu-Natal derby.

“It would have been an injustice if we didn’t take all three points today,” Tinkler told SuperSport TV after a match which saw Maritzburg come back from behind.

“I thought we started extremely well. I thought in the first half, most of the possession was with us… Unfortunately, we got punished with the long ball.

“I can’t fault the boys. They worked extremely hard to get the equaliser and a deserved winner.”

SuperSport United have won four of their last six games against Maritzburg, so it will take a huge effort from the Team of Choice to upset the apple cart.
