This saga will drag itself into 2023 like a bad smell until the player categorically makes a statement, one way or another. It’s not a fun situation for Amakhosi fans, especially because it’s so hard to separate the fact from the fiction.

We all know that money isn’t an issue for Mamelodi Sundowns, so it’s normal that they’ll enter the race for one of South African football’s brightest prospects. 22-year-old Blom’s current Kaizer Chiefs contract expires in June 2023.

Blom is currently valued at R11.5 million. However, an offer significantly lower than that figure would likely be enough to prize him away from Naturena. Could Chiefs insist on getting a Sundowns player as part of the deal? That could certainly offset some of the pain that they may feel when losing a young talent of Blom’s calibre.
