MAMELODI SUNDOWNS TO OFFLOAD LESEDI KAPINGA

According to a report from SABC Sport, the former Lidoda Duvha star will leave Sundowns as the Tshwane giants are involved in a number of negotiations and it is likely that he will be offloaded.

The public broadcaster has it that the DStv Premiership champions, Sundowns are in talks with SuperSport United and Cape Town City and will use Kapinga to sweeten the negotiations as part of a swap deal.

“Mamelodi Sundowns are exploring the idea of using out-of-favour midfielder Lesedi Kapinga in player trade deals, SABC Sport has learnt,” reports the SABC.

Having arrived at Chloorkop from the Thohoyandou-based Leopards, Kapinga signed a three-year contract with a further option to extend by another two seasons, effectively tying him down at Chloorkop until June 2025.

However, he has been starved of regular game time and that suggests his days are numbered at Sundowns as he only featured in six matches in all competitions coupled with two assists last season.

SABC Sport has it on good authority that Sundowns have had conversations with, among other clubs, SuperSport United and Cape Town City about the player in exchange for their key figures,” adds the public broadcaster.
