Sundowns lose highest-paid star signing

Injuries can show the worst possible timing. Mamelodi Sundowns star Bongani Zungu has lost fitness just after hitting form.

Mamelodi Sundowns have suffered a blow. Superstar midfielder Bongani Zungu was just starting to recapture his true capacity.

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS: BONGANI ZUNGU TO BE OUT FOR A MONTH

According to a new report from Tiyani Mabasa’s reputable outlet, Unplayable, the 30-year-old midfielder has suffered a thigh injury that will keep him out of the Sundowns team for four weeks.

As previously revealed, the Dukuza-born star is believed to be the club’s biggest earner.

“Yeah, Zungu is now the highest-paid player at Sundowns,” the source told KickOff.

“But unfortunately, I can’t reveal the exact figures due to ethical reasons.”

ANDILE JALI MISSES MAMELODI SUNDOWNS TRAINING

In other reports, Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali, who has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs, was not spotted at Chloorkop last Thursday.

Following the recent dramatic reports on attending training under the influence of alcohol, the DStv Premiership champions might be moving on from the former Pirates midfielder.

While Jali’s disciplinary report included his teammate Sipho Mbule, the 24-year-old has since made a return, while Jali did not. Additionally, the Matatiele-born player is yet to renew his contract with Sundowns before it expires in June. Read the full story here.
