A Mamelodi Sundowns legend pretty much did anything to realise his personal goals, including payment rewards to his teammates.

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS LEGEND PAID HIS TEAMMATES FOR GOAL ASSISTS

Many of you will remember Raphael Chukwu as one of the finest strikers in Premier Soccer League history. According to his former Kabo Yellow teammate Sipho Nunens, Chukwu showed a special commitment to win the top goal-scorer awards.

“Chukwu gave you R5 000 for giving him an assist,” Nunens said on TK Solutions TV’s YouTube channel.

“You pass to him and he scores, he will give you R5 000. He was a striker fighting for the leading goal-scorer award.

“He gave R5 000 after the game. Even If I would dribble the goalkeeper, I would still look for Chukwu,” the Potchefstroom-born former Sundowns star concluded.

MOKWENA KEEN ON BAFANA BAFANA?

In related news, could we ever see Mokwena wearing Bafana Bafana colours? The 36-year-old says it should be left in God’s hands.

Speaking to the media last week before coaching Sundowns to a 5-2 bashing of Egyptian giants Al Ahly last Saturday, Mokwena said the opportunity did come his way in the past but the timing was off.

“Fortunately I speak in a space where I was given that opportunity a couple of years ago by coach Stuart Baxter and I was still at Pirates, in my previous job,” Mokwena said via iDiskiTimes.

“It didn’t make sense then. Maybe it’s something that if you leave it to God’s hands, when the timing is right God shall make it possible.

“Because I think everybody wants to be in a position where they serve their country and if my serving the nation comes in a situation where I have to be as an assistant, then if God deems that fit then I shall avail myself for sure…” Read the full story here.
