Sundowns are interested in Shandre Campbel, a rumoured target of Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

Sundowns move ahead for Campbell

18-year-old winger Shandre Campbell, who’s enjoying his breakthrough season, has directly contributed to five goals in 11 DStv Prem appearances this term, the highlight being a brace and match-winning display against Orlando Pirates. According to SoccerLaduma, the country’s ‘Big 3’ is taking notice.

“Mamelodi Sundowns are understood to be monitoring SuperSport United attacker Shandre Campbell, with a move not being ruled out. The Siya crew has been led to believe that the former DStv Diski Challenge star has attracted interest. Matsatsantsa though are looking at the possibility of sending him to Europe. Their Tshwane rivals, however, have proved that they have the financial muscle, having done so with Thapelo Maseko before the start of this season, and they will test SuperSport’s resolve. The Brazilians are understood to be looking at the fact that Campbell is a young player who can make an impact at the club and possibly even go overseas after that” wrote the publication.

Kaizer Chiefs seal a deal for their own youngster

A couple of weeks back, Amakhosi secured the singing of an 18-year-old attacker from Tika Taka Sports Academy going by the name of Kamogelo Malefo. Chiefs’ newest youth recruit bagged 16 goals and supplied 18 assists in 18 games last season. The teenager will join the club’s U19 structures and go from there. Perhaps his arrival can soften the blow if Campbell opts to leave SuperSport for Sundowns, it’s a path well-trodden after all.
