Baxter’s win percentage in those matches (9 out of 23) actually isn’t that bad at 39%.

The record is held by Baxter himself in his first stint at the club when he won an incredible 61% of his matches in charge.

However, the manner in which Kaizer Chiefs’ statement ended in particular, suggests there will be no third welcoming of Baxter.

Amakhosi signed off by saying: ‘We wish him well in the future’.

Which basically means “So long, farewell. Good luck to whichever club hires you going forever, but it won’t be Kaizer Chiefs ever again”.

Although Baxter is a true football man at heart, there’s probably no desire on his part to return to Kaizer Chiefs.
