After 13 matches of the 2020/21 DStv Premiership season, Grobler has found the back of the net on no fewer than 12 occasions.

Incredibly, that’s already more than the leading scorer(s) finished on in three previous seasons!

Keryn Jordan (11 in 1997/98), Bernard Parker (10 in 2013/14) and Rodney Ramagalela and Percy Tau (both 11 in 2017/18).

BRADLEY GROBLER HAS 17 MORE MATCHES THIS SEASON

On the assumption the 33-year-old Grobler stays fit, he has 17 more possible matches to play this season.

Should he maintain his current goal-scoring rate, his 12 goals in 13 matches will equate to 27 or 28 goals once the season is completed.

The current record holder for goals in a PSL season since the league started in 1996/97 is 25 by Zambian Collins Mbesuma for Kaizer Chiefs in their title-winning 2004/05 campaign.

To date the South African player with the most goals to win the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot trophy is 21 by Pollen Ndlanya, again for Kaizer Chiefs, in the 1998/99 season.

Bradley Grobler will have his next chance to add to his tally when Matsatsantsa host Swallows FC in a top-of-the-table clash at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium on Saturday, 30 January.

Kick-off is at 17:00.

Don’t bet against him doing just that!
