Speaking to SA FM, SuperSport United CEO Matthews said Mbule’s ill-discipline is the reason he will not be sold to any club at this stage.

Mbule was on the radar of both Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns in this January transfer window, but he is staying at SuperSport United.

Matthews said while Mbule arrived at the same time as Teboho Mokoena at SuperSport United, he hasn’t done enough to take his football to another level.

Furthermore, Matthews revealed that Mbule came back from the festive season 5kg overweight and had to be lapped by his teammates in training.

“We love Sipho, he’s a great talent. There was interest in him but he has to do better. You can’t be lapped by your teammates in training. He came back 5kg overweight after Christmas and that’s just not good enough,” added Matthews.
