MaMkhize to wield the axe on Royal AM coach?

Royal AM boss Shauwn Mkhize is reportedly considering replacing Abram Nteo as coach after a run of poor results.

It’s been a tough period of results for Royal AM in recent times, with the club having won just two of their last 12 games in all competitions, while slipping down to 10th on the DStv Premiership log after a loss to Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday.

According to iDiski Times, Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize held a tense meeting with the club’s technical staff this week, and Abram Nteo’s job could be on the line, particularly if there isn’t a favourable result against Chippa United this weekend.

The report further states that John Maduka could even be considered for a possible return.

The coaching setup at Royal AM has been beset by chaos over the last six months, and back in September, Dan Malesela confirmed the reason he left Royal AM was due to his dissatisfaction with the co-coaching role at the club.

“It was just due to my role because I just felt the co-coaching role was not working,” Malesela said in an interview with KickOff.

“I asked myself if I regard myself as a brand, as Dan Malesela, how is my brand going to be affected when I’m among a group and whether I am growing that brand. Because in my opinion, I haven’t really fulfilled completeness in this thing of coaching.

“Because I still need to do a lot more, grow a lot more. But then who will be able to identify if I’m the one who is steering this whole thing when we are a group. So, I felt maybe it’s not going to work for me.”
