Shauwn MaMkhize Mkhize’s Royal AM are not backing down in their legal battle with the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

The Spice People were dealt a major blow in their pursuit of lifting last season’s GladAfrica Championship title when title rivals Sekhukhune United were awarded three points by the league with one week to go.

Royal AM boycotted four of their relegation/promotional playoff matches at the end of the previous season and were subsequently found guilty of all all charges laid against them by the league in August.

MaMkhize’s side have since been working hard to get SAFA arbitrator Hilton Epstein’s decision which saw Sekhukhune United remain as GladAfrica Championship champions overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Royal AM’s MaMkhize not backing down against SAFA and PSL!

“Yes, the letter from CAS says that the matter is set down for 3 March,” MaMkhize and Royal AM’s legal representative Leruma Thobejane told SundayWorld.

“Our contention is that arbitrator Hilton Epstein’s award was factually and legally incorrect and we want that award to be set aside and then the flow of logic and natural consequence must take place.

“This means that those three points and three goals that were given to Sekhukhune United FC must be taken back and then what should happen is Royal AM must be the champions of the GladAfrica Championship. They must get the winners’ trophy, the gold medal and the appropriate prize money for champions.”

Despite MaMkhize’s side not featuring in the playoffs, the Durban businesswoman ended up buying Bloemfontein Celtic’s top flight status.

Royal AM currently sit in 3rd position in the DStv Premiership log standings with 11 matches to go and have arguably been the surprise package of the season.
