Mkhize, 46, wrote to her nearly three million followers on Instagram: “I remember the day you were born like it was yesterday. It was so easy with you, you were a sweet, calm and unbothered baby.
“From the moment I laid my eyes on you, I knew that I would do anything to protect, love and care for you. You instantly became my motivation and you still are my number one driving force. I’ve watched you grow and make mistakes.

“I’ve seen you at your highest and at your lowest. Through it all, I will always be your mother, hoping and praying for God’s favour, guidance and blessings upon your life.
“Today, as you turn a year wiser, know that I will always love you and I wish you the best as you enter this new chapter of your life. Happy Birthday My Andy!!!!!! P.S. on a lighter note! I think the labour pains I had with you were nothing compared to the pain I felt yesterday after our match.”
