Sekhukhune United have appointed a former Bafana Bafana coach as their Head of Development following the restructuring of their technical team.

On Friday, Babina Noko confirmed the appointment of Brandon Truter as head coach, replacing Kaitano Tembo who was sacked after a series of poor results.

As per their statement, Sekhukhune United revealed that Truter would solely be assisted by MacDonald Makhubedu who previously held the position of Senior Coach at the club.

And that left a question mark, well, at least until the last paragraph, over the future of Thabo Senong who was one of Tembo’s assistants since the start of the season.

In the last paragraph of the statement, Sekhukhune United said Senong had been roped in their Head of Development going forward.

EX-BAFANA BAFANA COACH SENONG HEADS SEKHUKHUNE UNITED DEVELOPMENT

Senong is a young coach who worked as one of Bafana Bafana assistant coaches for years during Shakes Mashaba’s tenure.

At the time, he juggled both the work at Bafana Bafana and SA U17 and U20 national teams as head coach as part of preparing the younger ones for the senior team.

Senong, 42, would leave South Africa to coach the Lesotho senior national team in August 2019, but he would later return to join Sekhukhune United.
